Baltimore Cyber Attack – NSA Declines to Comment on Eternal Blue Flaw

Two weeks have passed to Baltimore ransomware attack. But there is no proof which could tell about the actual reason for the attack. According to a report of New York Times on Baltimore ransomware attack, Eternal Blue hacking vulnerability was exploited by the hackers to shut down the Baltimore city. And NSA (National Security Agency) had discovered the Eternal Blue flaw many years ago. At that time, NSA had told to the world that it is a cyber spy and kept the discovery secret. And now Baltimore city is facing the results of Eternal Blue flaw.

A spokesperson of NSA refused to comment anything on the attack and said that they don’t have anything for us on this. NSA is showing an ignorant attitude towards the Baltimore ransomware attack after the link of  Eternal Blue was found in the attack. The Eternal Blue flaw has been a major cause of the cyber attacks in the past three years including the WannaCry assault which disturbed the UK. Several companies in Austin do not let Cryptolockers’ presence in their system, because it brings various virus, eternal blue flaw and spammy links which are used by the hackers to target someone. ICS in Austin is an IT service provider company which suggests system backup to avoid Cryptolockers’ presence.

Eternal Blue produces bugs and flaws in the older version of Microsoft’s window operating system, which help the hackers to run malicious code on an infected computer. The perpetrators also blackmailed Baltimore’s local government by running  Eternal blue flaw on their computers. The hackers used ransomware to decrypt the Baltimore’s server on 7th June, and they demanded 13 bitcoins which are almost equal to $100,000.
