Amazon’s IMDb Introduces Free Movie and TV Streaming Service

Amazon has added another feather into its cap with the launch of the free streaming video pool. It is known as IMDb Freedive which offers a platform for Fire TV devices to watch free TV shows and movies. Contrary to other streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video, IMDb Freedive doesn’t charge anything as there is no need to subscribe to it. Freedive simply works with the support of ads and makes possible for people to watch the favorite TV series or movie for free on IMDb.

For Fire TV device users, Freedive service is available on the website with IMDb Freedive icon in “Your Apps & Channels Row”. Also, for normal users, one can access it by visiting the IMBd website on laptop or computer. Fire TV users can access IMDb Freedive by saying, “Alexa, go to Freedive” to urgently go for free TV shows such as Fringe, Heroes, The Bachelor and Without a Trace. Also, movies such as Awakenings, Foxcatcher, Memento, Monster, and Run Lola Run.

“Customers already rely on IMDb to discover movies and TV shows and decide what to watch,” said Col Needham, Founder, and CEO of IMDb. “With the launch of IMDb Freedive, they can now also watch full-length movies and TV shows on IMDb and all Amazon Fire TV devices for free. We will continue to enhance IMDb Freedive based on customer feedback and will soon make it available more widely, including on IMDb’s leading mobile apps.”

IMDb would expand its database with Hollywood-produced content. The website already offers celebrity interviews, trailers and short TV series. Now it would offer other important information about cast, crew, soundtrack, and trivia with the use of X-Ray technology.
