Maxwell’s Unbeaten Century Helps Australia to win the T20 Series Against India with 2-0

BENGALURU – In the second match of the two-match T20 series, Australia defeated India by 7 wickets to win T20 series. After winning the top, Australia chose to field at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Indian side came to bat to level the series against Australia and put a challenging total of 190 in 20 overs. In its response, Australia faced a difficult time in the initial overs but it was Glenn Maxwell’s exceptional ton which took his team to the victory line.

This is a big loss for the Indian team as it has lost to the opponent, Australia at the time when the latter had not won any T20 series against Australia for the last ten years. Before this series loss, the Indian cricket team had not lost any T20 match series against Australia in the past. In the first innings, Indian openers, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan made a good partnership. KL Rahul looked in a good form as he hit his half-century at a high strike rate. But after he got out, there was a fall of a couple of more wickets which resulted in the slowing down of run rate in the middle overs. However, an excellent partnership between Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni helped India to take its total to 190 with four wickets down. Kohli scored 72 off 38 balls and entertained the spectators to the fullest.

But from the Australian side, Maxwell took the responsibility on his shoulder and built a very good partnership with D’Arcy Short to ensure a successful run-chase for the Australian side. Glenn Maxwell scored an unbeaten 113 runs off 55 balls with 7 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. He took advantage of the short boundary of Chinnaswamy Stadium and the due factor helped him to score big in the match.
